Delete in the app (fastest)
- 1. Open Layover and sign in.
- 2. Go to Profile.
- 3. Tap Delete account.
- 4. Read what will be removed, then tap Delete everything.
- Your account leaves the game at once. There is no waiting period. A small locked record is kept for 180 days because Indian law requires it (see What stays).
Delete without the app
- If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in:
- 1. Write to hello@certifiedlost.com from the email address on your Layover account.
- 2. Use the subject line "Delete my Layover account" and include your handle if you remember it.
- 3. We delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done. We will not ask you to reinstall the app.
- If you cannot write from the account email, tell us what you can, and we will ask for enough to check the account is yours (for example, a sign-in code sent to that address).
What is deleted
- Your profile: email link, handle, avatar, difficulty, alert setting, age confirmation, time zone offset.
- Your play history, guesses, hints used, scores, streak and passport stamps.
- Your weekly leaderboard rows.
- Reports you made, and reports made about you, leave the game at once and are kept locked for 180 days, as described under What stays. Blocks you made are deleted with your account.
- Any launch list email.
- Your hint credits, including any you bought. Unspent hints cannot be restored.
- Your handle goes back into the pool and someone else may take it.
- Your age group and, for players under 18, the record of your parent or guardian's agreement.
- A parent or guardian can also ask us to delete a teen account: write to hello@certifiedlost.com.
What stays
- Anonymous daily counts of plays and wins. They point at nobody.
- Your email address, handle, account identifier and report records, locked for 180 days after deletion because the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, rule 3(1)(h), require it. Nobody uses them in that time except to answer a lawful request. Then they are erased.
- Reports you made and reports made about you keep both handles as they were. They are kept for 180 days from the day each report was made, or until 180 days after the deletion if that is later. Then they are deleted automatically.
- Purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat. They keep them for as long as they set under their own policies. We keep our own purchase records for the period Indian tax law requires.
- Backups: none. Our database plan keeps no automatic backups.
- From May 2027, the DPDP Rules 2025 (rule 8(3)) require us to keep logs of how your data was processed for one year, then erase them. We will update this section before that date.
Analytics
- If you allowed analytics, events sent to Mixpanel and Google Analytics are removed on request. Write to hello@certifiedlost.com and we delete them within 30 days.
Purchases and subscriptions
- Deleting your account does not refund anything, and it does not cancel an Explorer Pass. Cancel the membership in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings before you delete, or the store keeps billing you. Your purchases stay in your Apple or Google purchase history.
Deleting the app is not deleting your account
- Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account or your data.
